London, Jan 23 : British Prime Minister David Cameron is going head-to-head with the European Court of Human Rights over its ruling that the man dubbed Osama bin Laden's right-hand man in Europe would remain in the UK.

The judges had ruled that Islamic extremist Abu Qatada could not be deported to Jordan to face terror charges.

According to the Daily Star, Cameron will tell the court this week to "stop meddling in British justice".

He will also reportedly demand major reforms in the way the court is run and ask the judges to be more in touch with public opinion.

The Strasbourg-based court had blocked the extradition of Britain-based Qatada saying in its ruling that he would face a "flagrant denial of justice" if he returned to Jordan.

It also said that there was a "real risk of the admission of evidence at the applicant's retrial obtained by torture of third persons". (ANI)
