Hong Kong - A former Hong Kong policeman was Friday beginning a 22-month jail term after being convicted of paying girls aged 13 to 15 to have sex and recording the acts on video. 

The girls were paid 500 Hong Kong dollars (64 US dollars) by 45-year-old Pong Wai-ka each time they went to a rented flat where he filmed them having sex with him, Hong Kong's District Court was told. 

Pong, a married father of two, had sex with the girls between April and October last year and was arrested after police received a tip-off about his activities. 

Pong pleaded guilty to seven counts of having sex with under-age girls and two counts of engaging in indecent conduct with them. He was jailed for 22 months at a sentencing hearing Thursday. 

The defendant, a former policeman who now works as a car salesman, apologized to the girls' families and told the court he had now become a Christian and changed his lifestyle. (dpa)
