India strengthens cultural ties with Vietnam
Guwahati, Dec 27 : The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) organised a visit of a troupe from Vietnam recently to Guwahati Assam to strengthen the ties between India and Vietnam.
A 10-member cultural troupe from Vietnam mesmerized the audience in Guwahati. They performed Vietnamese folk dances and songs in traditional attire.
"All the artists are trying to perform their best and we hope that by performing such cultural program will get to know each other better and will improve the relations between the two nations," said Nok Aieng, an official form Vietnam.
The troupe, which comprises artists from the Vietnam National Music Song and Dance Theatre, showcased dances of various ethnic groups, including Kinh and Tay community.
"There is so much similarity between Vietnam and India particularly in musical and dance form. Organizing such program will definitely strengthen ties between the two countries," said S P Kakoti Bora, Consultant cum Regional Director, Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
India and Vietnam cooperate closely in various regional forums such as ASEAN, East Asia Summit, Mekong-Ganga Cooperation and Asia Europe Meeting (ASEM). (ANI)
