Nairobi, Feb 12 - Kenya has sealed its border with Somalia to prevent Somali militants from entering the country.
Internal Security Minister George Saitoti Saturday called on the security agencies to remain vigilant and vet all visitors to the country, Xinhua reported.
Somalia's Al-Shabaab militant group, which is affiliated to the Al Qaeda network, said it will attack Kenya for sending its troops to that country to fight against them.
Kenya had sent its troops to Somalia three months ago for peacekeeping. The country has since been hit by a series of blasts, mostly targeting the security forces.
There have been reports that members of the outfit were trying to sneak into the country through the neighbouring countries.
"We need to secure our borders to ensure that no people with ill intentions are allowed into the country," the minister told security officials at a meeting. (IANS)
