Kind-hearted US cop tucks $100 into traffic ticket for cash strapped motorist
Wellington, Dec. 18 : A motorist in Texas was left surprised, when a policeman gave him a 100 dollar note, after fining him for driving an unregistered car.
The driver, Hayden Carlo, told the cop that he had an outdated registration label, as he didn't have the money to pay for the registration.
"I said it was either feed my kids, or get this registration done," Stuff. co. nz quoted Carlo as telling CBS affiliate, KHOU.
The excuse wasn't enough for the policeman to let him go, but he did slip a 100-dollar-note in the folded ticket.
"I opened it up and there's a 100 dollar bill. I broke down in my car," Carlo said.
The money was enough for Carlo to pay the fine and update the registration of both his and his wife's car.
The policeman has chosen to remain anonymous but a spokesman said that the generous gesture will be recognised by his co-workers.
"As he told me, this man needed it more than him, and it was the right thing to do," the spokesman said. (ANI)
