Islamabad, Dec 31 : The much-awaited report of the probe into the US attack that killed Osama bin Laden in his Abbottabad compound last year has been completed and is likely to be presented to Pakistan's Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf this week.
The report prepared in more than one and a half years is likely to generate a fresh debate on the killing of Osama in the US Navy Seals raid on May 2, 2011.
According to a private Pakistani TV channel, Abbottabad Commission's chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal said that the report had been completed and was likely to be presented to Ashraf on Monday.
Ashraf's Press Secretary Shafqat Jalil, however, said no meeting between Iqbal and the premier was scheduled on Monday, the Dawn reports.
According to sources, the 400-page report contains the statements of over 300 people and references to over 7,000 letters and other documents relating to Osama bin Laden.
The commission's chief said that the it examined over 1,500 witnesses, including, surviving members of the families of Osama and two Pakistani brothers who were protecting him.
It also examined secretaries of ministries, civilian officials concerned in Islamabad, and local officials, notables, neighbours, media personnel and military and intelligence personnel of Abbottabad, the chief said.
