Pakistan tells Afghanistan to take steps for early return of refugees
Islamabad, Dec. 4 : Pakistan has asked Afghanistan to take steps to create conducive conditions for voluntary and dignified return of Afghan refugees to their country.
The request was made by Minister for States and Frontier Regions Eng Shaukatullah during his meeting with Afghan President Hamid Karzai in Kabul, reports the Daily Times.
Shaukatullah requested Karzai to appeal Afghan refugees residing in Pakistan to return to their country and play their role in its reconstruction and rebuilding.
Karzai thanked the people and government of Pakistan for hosting and assisting million of Afghan refugees for more than three decades.
The two sides emphasised the need for further promoting bilateral cooperation in the areas of mutual benefits, stated a press release issued from Kabul. (ANI)
