Karachi, Jan 3 : Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has said Pakistan would have been a prosperous country had President Asif Ali Zardari accepted to implement the former's agenda for the Charter of Democracy.
Nawaz added that he would be happy if Zardari succeeded in improving Pakistan's situation and was re-elected to power by implementing his agenda because Nawaz' priority is to make Pakistan a prosperous and safe country, The Express Tribune reports.
He also announced plans to establish schools for the underprivileged children, which would provide free education, books, uniforms and laptops across the country, similar to those run by his brother Shahbaz Sharif in Punjab.
Sharif pointed out that the world had scaled new heights like stepping on the moon in the past 64 years, but Pakistan was still riddled with problems like lack of clean water.
He said that he had personally visited the areas ravaged by floods, and witnessed people living without camps because their homes and livestock were destroyed in the catastrophe.
Sharif vowed to improve the condition of the Sindh population and eradicate poverty and starvation from the province.
Nawaz reminded the Sindhi people that his party had eradicated robbery and kidnapping incidents in the province when it was in power. (ANI)
