War against Pakistan is ‘only solution’ for border-dispute: Ram Gopal Yadav
Bhadoi (Uttar Pradesh), Jan. 15 : Amid nationwide outrage against the brutal killing and mutilation of two soldiers by Pakistani troops in Poonch sector on January 8, Samajwadi Party (SP) General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav on Tuesday said that war is the only solution for the border-dispute between the two Asian neighbours.
Terming the brutal killing of Indian jawans as a war crime, Yadav said that Pakistan should be given a befitting reply to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
"The issue has not been resolved since 1947 despite several wars, and it is not going to be solved so easily. War is the only solution. It is matter of concern afterward that who remains alive and who not, but a war can only solve the issue," said Yadav.
"The people, who don't have their relatives in Army, are talking so much, but we must ask the families belonging to the soldiers deployed at the border areas that what they feel when such situation arises," he added.
Earlier on Monday, he had conveyed his assent to Air Chief Marshal N. A. K. Browne''s remarks that India may have to look at some other options for compliance of ceasefire if Pakistan continues to violate it.
Tension between the two neighbours has escalated ever since Indian jawan Lance Naik Hemraj Singh was beheaded in an attack by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control on January 8.
Pakistan has denied India's claim that its troops crossed the Line of Control to ambush a patrol party in the Mendhar sector in Poonch district. (ANI)
