Amy Winehouse rules album chartsWashington, Dec 7 : Tragic singer Amy Winehouse has shot to number one position on album charts, five months after her death.

The posthumous collection, Lioness: Hidden Treasures, of original tracks and covers, was released on Monday, Contactmusic reported.

Winehouse’s label Island Records confirmed the album had gone “straight to Number One on the midweek chart”.

“Just been told. Amy at Number One. My heart is sad but bursting with pride. Mitch,” her father tweeted.

Some of the proceeds from the album will go to the ‘Amy Winehouse Foundation’, set up in the star’s name.

Mr Winehouse tweeted: “140,000 sold equals 140,000 pounds to foundation in one day. Well done baby.” (ANI)
