Melbourne, December 14 : Charlize Theron has said her faith in humanity has been restored after filming her new movie ‘The Road.’
The film revolving around a post-apocalyptic tale of a man, played by Viggo Mortensen, and his son has been adapted from a book by Cormac McCarthy.
"I think the thing that really stood out for me was that there is so much hope and humanity in both the book and movie,” the Herald Sun quoted her as telling Uinterview. com.
She added: “I was going through a little bit of a period where I was a little angry and there was just a lot of stuff going on in the world that made me lose hope and this made me realise that there is a lot of hope in humanity.
"It is in us, so it is up to us to decide if we choose to be good and to help others.
“I think it is a cautionary tale of what could happen if we don''t step up and look after what we have."
Theron mentioned she had to do a lot of thinking to understand her character in the film.
She said: "It is very easy to sit at home and pretend to be a hero and think you would do all the right things and survive, but I think once you are actually in that situation it is a completely different story.
“My character''s point of view about survival is pretty harsh, so I had to really understand this world and these circumstances to understand why she behaved this way." (ANI)
