Washington, Sept 29 : George Clooney has downplayed a report that his ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis sent him angry text messages about his new girlfriend.

According to a US Weekly report, Canalis bombarded Clooney with a series of angry texts when she found out he was dating Stacy Keibler.

However, Clooney rubbished the story and told TMZ. com that it `was completely fabricated in order to sell magazines'.

"I never comment on my personal life unless it affects others... and this lie affects others," he said.

"Since I would be the only actual witness, I ask you to correct your story immediately, but that would assume you cared at all about telling the truth," he added. (ANI)
