London, April 2 - Members of British band Coldplay played an April fools joke on their fans by announcing they are launching a new perfume on that day.

Contactmusic. com reports that the group said they will release an exclusive fragrance called Angst on April 1.

"This is something we've wanted to do for a long time. People like to smell nice and we thought we could help them out," frontman Chris Martin had written in a post on the band's website.

It was later revealed that the band played a joke. (IANS)
