Melbourne, Mar 27 : Lara Bingle’s driving records are to be investigated by New South Wales Police despite the bikini model insisting she was merely joking when she said she lost her licence after taking demerit points for her friends.

Chief New South Wales traffic officer John Hartley has said police would look into Bingle''s driving record to assess whether or not charges would be laid.

"Of course there will be a preliminary look to see if there is any fact," News. com. au quoted Hartley as telling The Sunday Telegraph.

"We will be in discussions with the SDRO (State Debt Recovery Office) and we''ll see if there is any veracity in the comments made,” he added.

Bingle, 23, lost her licence before Christmas after being fined a number of times and collecting demerit points.

She is scheduled to get her licence back next month. (ANI)
