London, Sept 28 : Russell Crowe has signed up to play the Sheriff of Nottingham in a movie that offers a different take on the Robin Hood legend.

Helming the movie is Ridley Scott, who directed Crowe in his Oscar winning role in Gladiator.

Crowe however, was not ready to let on too much of the plot when interview by Empire magazine.

“I’ve loved that story since I was a kid and this is a really interesting way of doing it. I’m not saying anymore, but it’s not what you might expect,” The Sun quoted him, as saying.

Crowe and Scott are currently filming ‘Body of Lies’, with Leonardo DiCaprio. Their other collaboration - American Gangster – starring Denzel Washington, will hit theatres this November. (With inputs from ANI)
