New York, Feb 8 : Michael Phelps hit it off with Sean "Diddy" Combs and the two became instant buddies, at the rapper's Super Bowl party at Tao Las Vegas.

The Olympic gold medallist had dinner with Apollo Ohno and a few friends, but asked to meet Diddy, who was in a private room.

The two later held court at a table in the club, and when Diddy took the mike he mentioned Phelps.

"He turned the spotlight on Phelps and said he was having a `bromance' with him," the New York Post quoted a source as saying.

Diddy called Phelps an "American hero," predicting he'll win gold in the 2012 Olympics. (ANI)
