New York - British rock star Elton John raised 2.5 million dollars for Hillary Clinton at a concert Wednesday night in New York.

Ticket prices ranged from 125 dollars to 2,300 dollars. Fans got to hear John singing a collection of his greatest hits and comment on the US political process.

"I've always been a Hillary supporter," said John, 61. "There is no one more qualified to lead America."

He continued: "I'm amazed by the misogynistic attitudes of some of the people in this country. And I say to hell with them. ... I love you Hillary. I'll be there for you." (dpa)
