Washington, Oct 9 : Rumours that Angelina Jolie and estranged dad Jon Voight are on the path to a reconciliation have started making the rounds after the latter was spotted leaving the New York hotel she is staying in.
Jolie has barely spoken to her father since 2002 when he went on US chat show Access Hollywood and spoke of her alleged "serious mental problems", putting her adoption of son Maddox in danger

In the October 2004 issue of Premiere Magazine, Jolie said that she no longer wished to pursue a relationship with her father.
At the time she said: "My father and I don’t speak. I don’t hold any anger toward him. I don’t believe that somebody’s family becomes their blood.

Because my son’s adopted, and families are earned."
Now, Contactmusic reports that Voight’s attempt to mend the rift between him and his daughter by planting a rosebush in a public park in tribute to her mother may be working, for he was spotted smiling broadly while leaving the Waldorf Astoria Hotel where Jolie is currently staying with partner Brad Pitt and their children.
Voight had recently admitted that he had never met any of his daughter’s four children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh. (ANI)
