London, Jan 23 : Heidi Klum and British singer Seal have confirmed the end of their seven-year marriage, describing the separation as amicable.
The couple announced their split in a joint statement on Sunday night, after rumors sparked over the weekend that a divorce was imminent.
"While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate," the Telegraph quoted them as saying in their statement.
"We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart."
The two said that protecting the well being of their children was their top priority and asked for privacy, while thanking family and friends for their support.
The couple have three children together, Henry, six, Johan, five, and Lou, two. Klum also has a seven-year-old daughter from her relationship with the Italian businessman and Formula One entrepremeur Flavio Briatore.
Last September they released a steamy music video for the singer's new single "Secrets," which featured the naked couple in bed together.
They were one of Hollywood's most high-profile couples and seemed to have the kind of relationship anyone would envy.
The couple, who renewed their wedding vows every year, married in 2005. (ANI)
