London, November 24 : James Cameron''s upcoming epic film Avatar has been dubbed as the most expensive film in Hollywood history.

The science fiction blockbuster is said to have a budget costing a staggering 300 million pounds.

The movie, slated for a December release this year, is being touted as a breakthrough in terms of filmmaking technology, for its development of 3D viewing and stereoscopic cinematography.

“We opened up a big can of worms with this movie. It was a lot of work,” the Daily Star quoted Cameron as saying.

The film is based on an epic conflict on a far-away world called Pandora, where humans and the native species Na''vi, engage in war over the planet''s resources and existence. (ANI)
