London, Feb 9: More top acts have been announced to headline at this
year's Glastonbury festival, including Kings of Leon and The Verve.
The bands will top the bill alongside American hip-hop star Jay Z at the world-renowned music event.
All three acts will be performing on the Pyramid stage, the most popular and coveted spot.
Kings of Leon will headline on Friday 27 June, with Jay-Z performing on
Saturday 28 June and The Verve closing the festival on 29 June.
"We are thrilled that these acts are headlining. It really looks set to
be an amazing year,” BBC quoted organiser Emily Eavis, as saying.
"The Verve are a great Glastonbury band and they are finally doing the headline slot we have been waiting for years.
"Jay-Z is coming all the way over especially, and he will undoubtedly
do an incredible show, we are so honoured to have one of the world's
greatest hip-hop artists on the farm.
"Kings Of Leon are one of the most exciting live bands out there and
they have come through the ranks at Glastonbury, from the new bands
tent a few years back.
"We see them as part of the great heritage of Friday night headliners
Coldplay (and) White Stripes. They're ready to make that leap as well,”
he added.
Other acts confirmed to play include British Sea Power and music legends Leonard Cohen and Neil Diamond. (ANI)
