London, Oct 1 : Late reality TV star, Jade Goody had debts worth 1.8 million pounds to be cleared even after her death.
Goody's two kids Bobby, 5, and Freddie, 4, were left with 2.2 million fortune when their mother died, but the late reality TV star's uncleared bills and taxes wiped out a huge chunk of the wealth.
Goody, who died of cancer at age 27 in 2009, vowed to provide for Bobby and Freddie, failed to paid her income tax for four years before she died, which in turn has deprived her kids of a good future.
She owed the Inland Revenue 585,000 pounds, which is believed to be the biggest single chunk of her massive debts, amounting to 1.8 million pounds.
82 percent of her wealth was wiped off leaving only a meagre 400,000 cash inheritance for the boys.
"This is the final tragedy. When Jade died, the lawyers and accountants took a quick view of her wealth but they didn''t realise that she had no accounts done," the Sun quoted a source as saying
"Sadly, because she lived her life in such an erratic, chaotic way, she never thought about her accounts, like a lot of celebrities. They have had to go through all her receipts for the past four years of her life and it has wiped out the boys'' inheritance," the source added. (ANI)
