Washington, Dec 5 : Madonna will perform at halftime of the Super Bowl in Indianapolis, in what is not only football’s biggest night but also the most watched musical event of the year.
The NFL and NBC announced during the Detroit-New Orleans game on Sunday that the Grammy Award-winning singer would highlight the halftime show at the Super Bowl event at Lucas Oil Stadium on February 5.
In 2010, more than 162 million in the US had tuned in to see The Black Eyed Peas’ performance with Slash and Usher in Dallas at halftime of Green Bay’s Super Bowl win, CBS news reported.
With the upcoming event, Madonna will join acts such as Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, Prince, U2, Paul McCartney, The Who and the Rolling Stones, all of whom have performed during recent Super Bowls. (ANI)
