Washington, May 07 : TV mogul Oprah Winfrey has reportedly fired the head of her newly-launched OWN network.

Christina Norman was recently dismissed as head of the Oprah Winfrey Network just after just four months on the job.

Peter Liguori, COO of the company that owns the Discovery channel, immediately replaced her, reports RadarOnline. com.

The management shuffle came after OWN, which is jointly-owned by Discovery and Winfrey, only attracted a dismal average of 148,000 viewers at any given time.

In a memo to staff, Winfrey lauded Norman's "hard work, passion and leadership were instrumental in getting OWN on the air," but added, "Given all that we have to do, the OWN Board felt it was necessary that we have a different kind of leadership in place for the next phase of OWN's growth." (ANI)
