Anand Jon may benefit from victims’ weak testimony

According to writer Sharon Waxman, the stories of the alleged victims were not strong enough to stand up under scrutiny, which could also lend weight to the argument of the defense.
Heather claimed that in 2003, when she was just 14, Jon tongue-kissed her at a fashion event. She said that Jon ‘terrified’ her.

On Sept 12, the judge granted a prosecution request to dismiss four more counts in Jon’s case, reports Indiapost.
Since the prosecution offered no explanation, defence attorney Leonard Levine said that the dismissal of charges showed the weakness of the evidence against his client.
The prosecution''s sudden dismissal of four additional counts now leaves only two claims related to the alleged rape charges.

Los Angeles, Aug 26 : The legal team of Indian fashion designer Anand Jon''''s has confirmed that the 30 counts - including almost all rape charges - against him have been dropped by the prosecuting agency.
According to a source, 10 prosecution witnesses have also been dropped.
Jon has been in LA County jail for past 15 months due to legal gridlock as New York has refused to grant him a bail hearing.

Los Angeles Judge David S. Wesley issued a court order Aug. 18 directing the America Online Internet company to reveal the name of a subscriber who allegedly hacked into Jon''s computer and eavesdropped on his communications with former defence lawyer Ron Richards.

George Elwell was ordered in to court by the presiding judge, David S Wesley when it was determined last week by the defence that evidence handed over to the detective in September 2007 was not booked into the evidence log until July 31, 2008 - 11 months later.
The detective admitted to looking at it, reading it, and remembering passages from it. He admitted that it was clearly relevant to the case.

Washington, Nov 21: Celebrity fashion designer Anand Jon, already in custody for multiple sexual assaults, has been indicted on a further 40 charges of rape and sexual assault in New York.
Presently the designer is being held in Los Angeles County jail where he is awaiting trial on 59 counts of sexual assault, including rape, sexual battery and committing lewd acts with a minor.

L.A. Superior Court Judge David S. Wesley ruled on Nov 7 that if the 33-year-old designer does post bail, he will have to submit to electronic monitoring and will not be able to have any contact with females under 21 or leave Los Angeles County without permission.
The judge warned Jon that his bail would be revoked if he contacted any female under 21 who is not a relative.

The Indian-born designer, who has worked with Paris Hilton and Mary J Blige, has been accused of luring young girls to LA with a promise of fame and fortune, only to force them into doing sexual favours for him.

Washington, Oct 5 : There seems to be no end of troubles for jailed Indian celebrity designer Anand Jon, for he has been indicted on 59 new counts of sexual assault.
The charges range from rape, lewd acts against child, possession of child pornography, oral copulation by force or fear, and sodomy.
There are 20 purported victims between the age group of 14 and 27.
If found guilty, the New York based fashion guru faces life in prison, reports TMZ.
