London, Dec 19 - Actor Christian Bale has defended his new film "The Flowers of War", which has been accused of being anti-Japanese.
In the film, Bale plays an American who protects a group of Chinese schoolgirls and prostitutes who are trying to escape the Japanese army's brutal sacking of China's wartime capital, Nanjing.

London, Dec 13 : Actor Christian Bale has revealed that he found filming his new movie `The Flowers Of War' "exhausting" after watching his female co-actors portraying downtrodden prostitutes.
The Dark Knight star depicts an American priest who helps shelter young sex workers from Japanese soldiers in the film, which is an adaptation of writer Yan Geling's novel set during the 1937 Nanking Massacre.

London, Nov 27 : Christian Bale has revealed that he will not be playing Batman any more after `The Dark Knight Rises'.
The 37-year-old actor said that it will also be the director Christopher Nolan's last movie on the cape crusader, marking the end of an era.
"I wrapped a few days ago so that will be the last time I'm taking that [Batman hood] off," the Daily Mail quoted the British actor as telling the Daily Inquirer.

Los Angeles, Feb 28 : Actor Christian Bale took home his first Oscar by winning the best supporting actor at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards here for his role in "The Fighter".
The actor plays a troubled boxer Dicky Eklund in the movie, which also stars Mark Wahlberg.
Bale was competing with John Hawkes ("Winter's Bone"), Jeremy Renner ("The Town"), Mark Ruffalo ("The Kids Are All Right") and Geoffrey Rush ("The King's Speech") for the award.

The "Terminator Salvation" star had left his native Wales in 1976, lived in Europe and then shifted to US for work and if rumours are to be believed, the actor is seeking US citizenship, reports starpulse. com.

London, March 9 : Hollywood actor Christian Bale has not been in contact with his family for more than 18 months after his arrest following a family row.
Bale's mother Jenny said she is desperate to reunite with her son, saying she misses him terribly.
She said Bale has ignored all attempts she made to make contact since he was arrested on suspicion of assault on the evening of the London premiere of his movie "The Dark Knight" in July 2008.
