Washington, Dec 21 : Elvis Presley has been nominated for a posthumous Grammy Award.
`Young Man With the Big Beat: The Complete `56 Elvis Presley Masters', a five-CD box set of the star's early recordings, has been tipped in the Best Historical Album category by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

London, Sept 23: In an unreleased interview, Elvis Presley had revealed that despite his youth, he was feeling isolated and apart from those around him, perhaps because of his sudden stardom.
The King of Rock and Roll said this in an interview, which is as yet unreleased, at the age of 21.'
Presley also admitted that he wanted to get married so that he would no longer feel "lonesome right in the middle of a crowd".

London, Aug 20 : Late singer Elis Presley's grand-daughter Riley Keough has reportedly bagged the leading lady's role in Steven Soderbergh's "Magic Mike" -- a film about male strippers.
Contactmusic. com reports that earlier this week it was announced that Matthew McConaughey will play a stripper-turned-club owner in the film, which is inspired by actor Channing Tatum's experiences as a Florida stripper before his acting career took off.

Washington, July 21: Elvis Presley has been turned into a comic book character to commemorate his 35th death anniversary.
Presley will be immortalised in Graphic Elvis, a limited edition comic created by Liquid Comics and Elvis Presley Enterprises.
"Comics influenced so much of his life," Contactmusic quoted Sharad Devarajan, the co-founder of Liquid Comics, as saying.

The comic book will be called Graphic Elvis. It's a limited edition comic created by Liquid Comics and Elvis Presley Enterprises to commemorate the 35th death anniversary of the singer.

London, Apr 16: A replica of the Graceland estate, Elvis Presley's famous residence, is set to open in Denmark.
The Danish tribute to the King has been built in the town of Randers and will be known as Graceland Randers, reports the BBC.
The building is twice the size of the original, and will house a shop, restaurant and museum.

Washington, Feb 17: The `Glee' cast has broken the record for the most songs on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, beating legends like the Beatles, Elvis and even Michael Jackson.
The Fox TV series has, in just 18 months of appearing on the charts, set the record for the most songs on the Billboard chart's 52-year history, CBS News reported.

Los Angeles, Nov 12 : Late singer Elvis Presley's will found in a garbage bin in 1987 is expected to fetch up to $1,500 at an auction this weekend.
A law firm employee kept the document after finding it in an office garbage bin during a clear-out, a decade after the "Jailhouse Rock" hit maker died.
It will be auctioned off alongside a lock of Presley's hair and a scarf once worn by the singer, at the Henry Aldridge & Son sale in Wiltshire, England, Nov 13.

London, Sep 15 : A slate blue Mercedes 600 once registered in the name of Elvis Presley is to be auctioned in December this year by the British auction house Bonhams with a pre-sale estimate of between 180,000 to
240,000 euros ($231,000 to 309,000).
It is one of the few cars that the King of Rock registered in his own name. Two years later, he gave it to his friend James Leroy Robertson. It then ended up at Robertson Motors in Memphis which again sold it in 2005.

London, July 22 : The embalmer who took care of Elvis Presley's body after his death is auctioning off the toe tag he put on the King of Rock and Roll's corpse.
The mortician worked at the Memphis funeral home where Elvis' body was taken.
He is also selling off other items used to prepare his corpse.
The objects up for sale in Chicago include rubber gloves, forceps, a comb, eye liner, lip brushes and arterial tubes.

London, July 1 : Elvis Presley archivists have found three rare photographs dating back more than 50 years, showing the young singer greeting fans at the gates of Graceland.
Angie Marchese, director of archives at Elvis Presley Enterprises, revealed that the negatives were tucked in a small envelope with no writing on it.
A scan revealed that the photos, which show a young Presley'' connection with his fans, were taken in 1957.

London, May 13 : Elvis Presley wrote ''I love ya mama'' and signed his name on a Bible he possessed, after the burial of his mother on August 14th, 1958, it has emerged.
The King inscribed the note in block capitals on the last page of the holy book, following his mother’s funeral ceremony in Forest Hill Cemetery on Highway 51.
He wrote in large blue handwriting, “I love ya mama – Elvis Presley 59.”

London, Mar 2 : Elvis Presley's iconic quiff has come out top of the charts among British men's favourite hairstyles, says a research.
According to the study, which polled more than 4,000 Britons, 50 per cent of men voted for the King's trademark quiff and sideburns.
Whereas, David Beckham's coiffured "curtains" hairstyle and eighties radio DJ Pat Sharp's mullet secured 17 per cent and 15 per cent of the poll respectively, reports The Daily Express.

London, Feb 27 : A strand of legendary musician Elvis Presley's hair has failed to attract any buyer at an auction.
The memorabilia, encased at the centre of a gold disc, was expected to fetch up to $960 when it went under the hammer Thursday, but bidding failed to meet the reserve price, reported contactmusic. com.
The seller, a music fan from Gloucestershire, England, said he bought the strand during a previous televised auction.

London, Jan 15 : Elvis Presley was suffering from over a dozen serious disorders when he passed away at the age of 42 in 1977, his doctor has disclosed.
According to Dr George Nichopoulos, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll had a swollen colon, enlarged heart and liver, irritable bowel syndrome, gout, hepatitis, migraine, diabetes, asthma, kidney disease, arthritis and stomach ulcers, reports the Daily Star.
Nichopoulos, 83, writes in a new book that Presley’s body just “gave out”.

Memphis (Tennessee), Jan 5 - ?The 1970s are alive and well at the white villa on Elvis Presley Boulevard in the Blues city of Memphis that has come to symbolise the life of the King of Rock `n Roll who would have been 75 on Jan 8.
Elvis himself still seems to live here at Graceland, where hundreds of thousands of fans flock each year to remember Elvis and where it's hard to imagine the old man he would be today.
