London, June 16: The original poster for James Bond movie ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ has sold at a London auction for a staggering 79,250 pounds.
The hand-painted piece by Robert McGinnis was a prototype for the film imagery, but another design was eventually chosen to market the Sean Connery blockbuster, released in 1971.

London, June 16: ‘James Bond’ producer Barbara Broccoli has been awarded undisclosed libel damages from newspapers that claimed that she had improperly awarded grant to First Light, a charity she chairs.
According to articles in the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday, the 50-year-old used her role as a board member of the UK Film Council, to award herself or her company a sum of public money.

London, Feb 1 - Clint Eastwood says he would be tempted to come out of acting retirement only if he gets to play James Bond on screen.

London, Oct 28 - A silver Aston Martin DB5 sports car driven by Sean Connery in the 1964 James Bond film "Goldfinger" sold for 2.6 million pounds ($4.1 million) at an auction Wednesday.
The Aston Martin specially outfitted for the world's most famous spy was the star attraction at a classic car auction in London that also saw rocker Rod Stewart's Lamborghini sell for 600,000 pounds ($946,000).

The movie spy most recently portrayed on the big screen by Daniel Craig topped a poll of over 7,000 British men with a huge 64 percent, beating time traveller 'The Doctor' from the TV series "Doctor Who" and computer game hero 'Super Mario' into second and third place respectively, reports imdb. com.

London, April 20 : The 23rd instalment in the James Bond franchise has been put on hold as producers announced they have suspended the project of the next film indefinitely.
Producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said work on "Bond 23" was suspended "indefinitely" because of uncertainty over the future of the MGM studio, reports burnleyexpress. net.

The car, which features in five 007 films including ‘Casino Royale’ in 2006, beat the Jaguar E-Type, which came second, reports the Sun.
Third on the list was ‘Mini Cooper’ followed by Aston Martin V8 Vantage at number four.
Austin Mini rounded off the top five in the survey for TV channel Dave.
Meanwhile, the Reliant Robin was voted the most embarrassing motor in the survey.

In fact, Fleming often claimed, albeit in humour, that he had helped to create the CIA.
According to the Times, during the Second World War, Fleming had worked as a personal assistant to John Godfrey, the hard-driving head of Naval Intelligence, who was Fleming’s model for M in the Bond series.

The book, commissioned to mark the centenary of the birth of Bond's creator, Ian Fleming, sold 44,093 copies in its first four days of publication, reports BBC.
Previous Penguin bestsellers by the likes of Tom Clancy and Nick Hornby have sold about 11,500 copies in their first four days, the publisher said.

Devil May Care, by Sebastian Faulks, has been published to mark the centenary of Bond creator Ian Fleming's birth, and features 007 travelling to Paris, London and the Middle East during 1967.
The book's plot is being kept under wraps, though it is known the story is set in 1967 during the Cold War.

London, May 7 : A lost theme tune to Sean Connery's last film as James Bond has been revealed by its composer after 25 years.
The track for the unofficial Bond movie ‘Never Say Never Again’ was co-written by Stephen Forsythe and Jim Ryan. However, it never appeared in the finished film due to contractual issues.
Now, 25 years later, Forsythe has released the track onto the Internet.
