London, March 21 : Singer Wyclef Jean was shot in Haiti while he was campaigning for a friend standing in its presidential election.
A bullet grazed Wyclef's hand when he stepped out of a car to make a phone call in the capital Port-au-Prince Saturday.
"I heard 'blow, blow, blow' and I looked down at my right hand," thesun. co. uk quoted Haiti-born singer as saying. Jean says he had no idea who fired the shots or which direction they came from.

London, March 21: Hip-hop star Wyclef Jean, who is in native Haiti to support presidential candidate and fellow musician Michel Martelly, has claimed that he had been shot on the eve of presidential elections on the Caribbean island.
The former Fugees frontman said an unknown assailant blasted his hand just after 11pm in the city of Delmas, just outside the capital Port-au-Prince.

Penn and Jean bumped into each other at B. B. King Blues Club n Grill in Times Square this weekend after they arrived separately to see Haitian band T-Vice, and locked themselves in a backstage dressing room for a 30-minute argument before emerging, having made peace.

The singer announced on his Twitter page that his lawyers would file an appeal and said he believes he meets all requirements to run for president.
