London, Oct 25 : Multi-millionaire rocker Rod Stewart has revealed that he had put his eldest daughter up for adoption because he was broke.

As an unknown 18-year-old, the singer could not afford to raise his daughter - Sarah Streeter.

"I was absolutely stone-broke, I didn''t have a pot to p*** in," The Mirror quoted Stewart as saying on Joy Behar''s US chat show.

Stewart, whose wife Penny Lancaster is expecting his eighth child, also explained that he made little effort to be a part of Sarah''s life because he did not want to "upset the apple cart". (ANI)
