London, June 10 : Singer Katy Perry has gifted her fiance British comedian Russell Brand a space trip as a birthday present to him.

The "Hot n Cold" singer has splashed out $144,730 to arrange a space trip for Brand on his 35th birthday. Katie did an extra effort and came in an astronaut's costume to present the gift, reports thesun. co. uk.

"Halfway through the dinner she walked in wearing a full astronaut outfit to give Russell the space trip," a source said.

Perry arranged a surprise get-together and invited friends of Brand including Paul McKenna at the Little Door restaurant, Los Angeles.

"Russell thought it was just him and Katy going for dinner. He was bowled over when he walked into the restaurant and saw she had got all his pals and family together for a surprise party," the source added.

It seems like it will be a great experience for Brand as he will board a spaceship and will go 50,000ft in air. The rocket motor will send the craft hurtling towards the edges of the atmosphere and zero gravity will kick in and he will experience total weightlessness.(IANS)
