London, Feb 9 : London, Feb 9 (ANI): Katy Perry has been offered a spot on X Factor following the axing of Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul.

The 27-year-old, currently divorcing comedian Russell Brand, was handpicked by show boss Simon Cowell.

She had apparently impressed the music mogul as a guest judge on the UK show two years ago.

"I worked with Katy once. I think she would be fun because she is hard - in a good way - and she's feisty," the Sun quoted Simon as saying.

`The One That Got Away' hitmaker has also been linked with a slot on the UK version, as it is believed that Kelly Rowland might not return. (ANI)
