Whoopi Goldberg to produce revival of Ntozake Shange's play

Washington, Mar 26 : Whoopi Goldberg is set to co-produce the first Broadway revival of Ntozake Shange's 1976 play ‘For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow Is Enuf.’
And she is also co-producing new Rialto-bound tuner ‘Bricktop -- Queen of the Night,’ about a cabaret owner in the 1920s and '30s, reports Variety.
Helmed by Shirley Jo Finney and choreographed by Hinton Battle, ‘For Colored Girls,’ will star India. Arie.
The show, which Goldberg co-produces with DreamTeam Entertainment Group, aims to start previews in mid-July for an early August opening.
The announcement of Goldberg's association with the project was timed to an Actors Fund benefit performance of songs by Ron Abel, who co-wrote the musical.
Paul Lambert and Jonas Neilsen are co-producers of ‘Bricktop’ while Abel and Chuck Steffan wrote the score. (ANI
