Islamabad, Dec. 8 : The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday rejected a plea filed against actress Veena Malik, saying reported nude pictures of her that had appeared in a magazine were published in another country, and therefore, she could not be tried in Pakistan.
Islamabad, Dec 8 - A Pakistani court has dismissed a petition seeking action against actress Veena Malik for getting herself photographed in the nude in an Indian magazine.
The Islamabad High Court ruled that the controversial pictures were published in another country and so she cannot be tried in Pakistan, Geo news reported Thursday.
The actress has denied posing in the nude and said her photographs were morphed.
Islamabad, Dec 8 : A petitioner has moved the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against actress Veena Malik and urged that she should be tried under Article 294 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) for obscene acts, Article 124-A for sedition, Article 140 for wearing garb or carrying token used by soldier, sailor or airman and Article 500 for defamation.
High Court Judge Muhammad Anwar Kasi has scheduled the hearing for today, The News reports.
Islamabad, Dec 7: The Indian magazine that Pakistani actress Veena Malik had accused of morphing her pictures for a nude photo shoot has sent her a legal reply threatening to sue her for 250 million rupees.
In their 11 page legal reply to her notice, FHM India categorically denied that her photo had been morphed, and said that Malik was the one who had initially pursued the magazine for a shoot.
