Mahindra and Mahindra posts Rs 400 crore net profitAuto major Mahindra and Mahindra has announced that its net profit has increased to Rs 400 crore for the quarter ended June 30 from Rs 159 crore during the same period last year.

Further, company's total income also witnessed an upward trend to Rs 4,266 crore as from Rs 3,331 crore.

According to an official communiqué, the results for the latest quarter include the figures of the company's former subsidiaries, Mahindra Holdings and Finance Ltd and Punjab Tractors Ltd.

The sources said that these companies merged with the parent firm in the June quarter. Hence, the figures of the reporting quarter are not comparable with those of the year-ago quarter.
