There is no denying that Anand Mahindra has been able to take the M&M group on to new heights but his global ambitions are the main target for the Group for the past many months now.
Notably, Mahindra & Mahindra, India's top utility vehicle and tractor maker running with a view to grab the troubled Korean SUV maker Ssangyong Motor will start the due diligence on the automaker.
It is believed that the process will take close to four to six weeks, after which the Indian company will decide about its bid for Ssangyong, Pawan Goenka, president of Mahindra's automotive sector said that the company is still giving a thought on how Ssangyong will fit in the Mahindra & Mahindra Portfolio.
Pawan Ruia led Ruia Group is also in race for the automaker and the bids are expected to be submitted by the 20th of July while the buyer will be finalised by the August of this year.
It may be noted here that Ssangyong said it had short-listed six out of seven firms that submitted letters of intent to buy the carmaker last week.
