Mainz, Germany - Mainz 05 striker Aristide Bance is under police investigation for attacking a woman on the training ground of the Bundesliga club.

A police spokesman said that the Burkina Faso player Bance, 24, hit the woman on Monday during an argument.

The spokesman said that there were a number of witnesses of the incident, including several reporters as it occurred shortly after Mainz officially presented their new coach Thomas Tuchel.

Mainz officials and the investigating prosecutor did not want to comment. (dpa)
