Maruti Suzuki sales rise 85.46 percent in OctoberIndia's largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has reported an encouraging 85.46 percent increase in sales during the month of October.

The company sold 1,03,108 units in October 2012 compared to 55,595 units sold during the same month of the previous year, it said in a statement. The total domestic sales of the firm rose to 96,002 units during the month compared to 51,458 units during the October of 2011. The sales of passenger cars in the domestic market increased 93.75 percent to 79,811 units from 41,192 units in the same month of 2011.

The sales of small cars including M800, A-Star, Alto and WagonR increased 68.87 per cent to 42,233 units in October 2012 from 25,009 units in October 2011. The total sales of compact cars including Estilo, Swift and Ritz models rose 22,459 units from 10,859 units. The sales of DZiRE model rose almost three times to 14,389 units in October from 5,001 units earlier. SX4 sales doubled to 695 units from 320 units in October 2011.

Meanwhie, the sales of luxury car, Kizashi rose 11 times from just 3 units in October of 2011 to 35 units during the October of this year. The company's exports rose 71.77 percent to 7,106 units in the month compared to 4,137 units in October of the previous year.
