London, September 12 : Matt Damon appeared on US TV ending rumors on the net that he is dead.

The actor made an appearance at The Late Show with David Letterman after reports came that he had slipped and fallen off the Palos Verdes mountains.

The ‘Departed’ star clarified that no such incident took place and chose to laugh it off.

"I didn''t know (I was dead), but I feel pretty good! I just heard this. It said that I was in the Palos Verdes mountains, I don''t know where this is. The cause (of death) was unknown," the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

However, he mentioned that it was a reckless act to spread such rumors as it could have easily got his family and friends panic-stricken.

He said: "I''m actually really glad I''m on the show because I''d hate to think that one of my friends would read it and think (it''s true)... I''m a little bit upset by this because it''s a careless, reckless thing to do." (ANI)
