Middle-aged women outperform men in memory testing
A research at the University of London revealed that women are capable of recalling things faster than men in their fifties.
The survey examined 9,600 middle-aged men and women of England, Scotland and Wales by asking them to memorize and then recall 10 words after two minutes, followed by repeated recall after five minutes. Every time it was women who outperformed the men of their age. The tests comprised of memory recalls, page filling tests and naming animals.
The analysts involved in the survey, Matthew Brown and Brian Dodgeon said, "Men performed significantly poorly in the verbal memory tests, particularly on the delayed memory test."
Findings were backed by reasons such as smoking, which contributed in lessening of memory levels significantly.
