Mike Hesson set to ‘clear air’ with axed skipper Taylor before England series

Mike-Hesson-Ross-Taylor.Wellington, Jan 29 : New Zealand coach Mike Hesson has decided to meet former captain Ross Taylor and clear the air between them before the upcoming England series.

Experienced Taylor is a crucial part of the team as he is expert in Test, Twenty20 (T20) and one-day formats of the game, and thus must be taken into confidence by Hesson for success in the upcoming matches, Stuff. co. nz reports.

Following his removal by Hesson, who handed over the captaincy to Brendon McCullum, Taylor did not accompany the Black Caps during their recently finished South African tour.

According to Taylor, he was told that he would lose the captaincy in all three forms of the game.

However, Hesson insisted that he intended for Taylor to retain the test captaincy and only have McCullum in charge in T20 and one-day cricket.

Taylor was recently named in the New Zealand XI to take on England in two T20 matches on Monday and Wednesday next week in Whangarei and is expected to be named in the Black Caps'' T20 and ODI squads later this week. (ANI)
