Monsanto India posts Rs 8.45 crore lossLeading agriculture firm Monsanto India has declared its fourth quarter financial results for the fiscal year 2009-10 and the reports has not been so impressive. The loss record for the company continues. The company has posted a net loss of Rs 8.45 crore for the quarter that ended in 31st March, 2010.

The net loss of the firm was reported to be Rs 26.75 crore for the fourth quarter last year. So far as the total income of the firm is concerned, it has touched Rs 31.29 crore during the January-March period of fiscal year 2009-10. It was Rs 6.75 crore for the same quarter last year. This has been informed by the firm in a filing at the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The annual net profit of the company was reported to be of Rs 53.84 crore for the year under review with a decline of 26.8% against previous fiscal.

The board has decided to recommend a dividend of Rs 7.50 per share on the face value of Rs 10 each for the financial year 2009-10 subject to the approval of the share holders.
