Mozilla squashes Firefox bugs

Mozilla squashes Firefox bugsMozilla has issued security updates to Firefox 3.5 and Firefox 3.0 open-source browsers to make many security bugs void. Bugs include the one disclosed at last week's Black Hat security conference.

During Black Hat in Las Vegas Dan Kaminsky had focused on problems of SSL.

Firefox 3.0.13 would fix two bugs and Firefox 3.5.2 is supposed to nullify another flaw.

Mozilla has strongly advised that all Firefor users should upgrade to these latest releases.

The patches apply to versions of Firefox for Windows, Mac and Linux.

The company also warned that attackers could hoodwink Firefox users via some fake software update that enclosed malware.

The users of Firefox 3.5 or Firfox 3.0 will receive an automated update notification within 48 hours.

As per data compiled by Web metrics company Net Applications, Firefox enjoys approximately 22.5 percent share of all browsers worldwide.

And around 75 percent Firefox users are still using Firefox 3.0 in stead of Firefox 3.5.
