Dairy product major, Nestle has said that it will change its brand name for milk and yoghurt products as 'Nestle a+' in India in order to create a better quality image and increase sales in the country.
Nestle India Dairy Business General Manager Kumaran Nowuram said, "The existing Nestle Milk has a consumer preference and has being doing well. We now want to take it to the next level. Relevant branding is one key element in communicating with consumers."
He also said that the re-branding will include company's milk and yoghurt across the country, which will come with new brand names. The new Nestle a+ brand name is to emphasize that the company follows strict quality standards for its milk and yogurt product offering in the country.
The company will not change the pricing for the products in the country following the new brand names. The main aim for the re-branding exercise is to to improve sales in the country as dairy products are becoming very important segment for the company.
The yoghurt with 'a+ dahi' brand name will be available in a 400 gram pack priced at Rs 18 and 200 gram pack priced at Rs 38. The company's milk is priced at Rs 57 per litre and is good for sale for period of 4 months.
