New age rules sprout at GDCInnovation seemed to be the theme at the GDC or the Game developers Conference. Motion controls and social gaming sensation ruled the arena in the annual aggregation of game developers, programmers and executives.

Sony, which emerged as the show stealer, released new measures for gaming. They included a wand-shaped PlayStation 3 motion controller system, PlayStation Eye camera, Motion Fighter for action and Sports Champions for the sport lovers including games of athletics.

The next important insight was the growing popularity of social networking Games such as Farmville, Mafia Wars etc, which continued to gather all the rage. Heads were put into thought on how to tap into the gaming world's supposedly called Next Big Thing- the social networking platform.

As per technology analyst Scott Steinberg, even the game developers today do not what they're capable of, because they're just coming to grip with the hardware itself. He further said that what we are seeing now is kind of a beginning only.

Also a key note, which was brought forward in support of the Gaming Industry by Sid Meier, designer of games like, Civilization, Railroad Tycoon exclaimed, "By the end of the game, you've maybe learned something about the world and hopefully something about yourself."
