New Report unveils Dire Effects of Global Warming

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has prepared a new report that warns about severe consequences of global warming. In the report, the officials have estimated 57,000 deaths in America from poor air quality by 2100 if no step is taken to control climate change.

On Monday, the EPA launched the report in which it has revealed about the results about what can happen if the world’s temperature reaches 5 degrees Celsius by 2100.

EPA chief Gina McCarthy said, “We can save tens of thousands of American lives and hundreds of billions of dollars annually in the United States by the end of this century. But the sooner we act, the better off America and future generations of Americans will be”.

Every year, lives can be saved from extreme temperatures and poor air quality by taking steps. In fact, a huge amount of money that can go in damage caused by storms and sea level rise can also be saved. But in order to save lives and money there is a need to take actions.

If no action is taken then California could witness more number of droughts, the west could face more wildfires and the east coast could remain troubled from heavy rains and storm surges. A number of factors are responsible for climate change, including human activity like burning fossil fuels and create emissions.

In December, delegates from across the globe will meet in Paris to try and come up with a legally-binding agreement on tackling global warming.
