At last, Vaas decides to quit Test cricket

Sri Lankan left arm fast bowler Chaminda Vaas On Sunday, the Sri Lankan left arm fast bowler Chaminda Vaas has announced to retire from the test cricket after the third and final test match against Pakistan, however, he will continue to play in the other formats of the cricket.

The 35 years old veteran said that he officially announces his retirement from the Test cricket after the third test against Pakistan of the ongoing test series but he would continue to play in the limited over format till 2011 World Cup.

However, Vaas refused to answer any question in the press conference saying that he would address the media after the conclusion of the third Test match which is scheduled to begin from tomorrow at the Sinhalese sports club.

Vaas, who had played 110 test matches for Sri Lanka, has been included in the Sri Lankan squad for the third test match as he was left out in the first two matches of the test series against Pakistan.

After making test debut against Pakistan at Kandy in 1994, Vaas had taken 354 wickets in the 110 test matches he played at an average of
29.40.
