More corporate eying IPL’s auction

Ipl-logoAs the norms for the bidding process of the two teams to be added in the fourth season of IPL now being loosened up, more companies are expected to 'show the money' at the auction.

Saif and Kareena may have got upset with the last minute cancellation of the auction who were planning to bid for the Pune team but there are many other who are now lining up for the two new IPL teams.

The relaxations in the norms came after BCCI scrapped the process of the auction made by the IPL officials clearly showing the power of the big daddy in Indian cricket. Out of the four much popular teams Ahmedabad, Pune, Kochi and Nagpur, experts believe two will surely join the list. While companies like Ashok Piramal Group, Jaypee Group, Shree Ram Group of Industries, Rosy Blue India Pvt. Ltd and Anchor Electricals Pvt. Ltd forms the consortium who is interested in Kochi, Adani Enterprises, Sahara Group and ICICI are the front-runners for the Ahemdabad franchisee.

Before the relaxation in the norms were announced, director Priyadarshan and actor Mohan pulled themselves out of the bidding process as a clause said that the net worth for a team had to be Rs 5,000 crore.
