Sarah Palin voter's second choice to Hillary Clinton, says poll

Sarah-PalinWashington, April 1 : Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin is reportedly the second choice of Americans after Hillary Clinton when it comes to seeing their favorite female candidate running for the high office, a new poll has found.

The poll, conducted by the Economist/YouGov, asked participants as to which female candidate, other than Hillary Clinton, would they like to see run for the high office.

While Palin won 9 percent of the vote, she was followed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren and former Secretary of State and National Security Adviser Condoleeza Rice, at 8 percent each, the Washington Times reported.

CEC to oversee Bengal preparations April 5Kolkata, April 1 : Chief Election Commissioner V. S. Sampath will visit West Bengal April 5 to oversee the preparations for the Lok Sabha polls in the state, an official said Tuesday.

Sampath's visit comes within two weeks of Deputy Election Commissioner Vinod Zutshi's assessment of the preparations.

According to Amit Roy Chaudhury, officer on special duty and ex-officio joint secretary, Sampath will hold an all-party meeting and discuss poll-related issues with district election officers, returning officers and police commissioners April 6.

SpiceJet launches Re.1 promotional airfare scheme

SpiceJet-AirlineNew Delhi, April 1 : Budget carrier SpiceJet Tuesday launched another promotional fare scheme offering fares starting at Re. 1 excluding taxes, for travel starting July 1 onwards.

According to the airline, the promotional scheme has been launched to introduce the low cost carrier's (LCC) new network of flights which came into effect from March 30.

The new plan comes after SpiceJet launched three discount scheme that led other airlines to offer similar promotional fares. The airline said that under its new fare scheme tickets can be booked April 1-3 for the travel period starting July 1 onwards.
