Salvador (Brazil), Dec 6 : The 2014 World Cup champions will receive $35 million in prize money, world football's governing body FIFA announced here Thursday.

The value represents a 17 percent increase in the prize money handed to Spain for winning the 2010 tournament in South Africa, reports Xinhua.

FIFA will award the second placed side $25 million while the third will receive $22 million.

Each of the tournament's 32 teams will receive $1.5 million before the tournament begins to help cover their preparation costs.

Kolkata, Dec 6 : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Friday condoled the death of South African anti-apartheid hero Nelson Mandela, said his lifelong struggle and sacrifice will be the source of inspiration for generations.

Washington, Dec 6 :Two years after saying President Barack Obama had not met an uncle who faced deportation, the White House acknowledged he did live with his father's half-brother for a "brief period of time" in the 1980s.

The president's uncle, Onyango Okech Obama, was granted permission Tuesday by a federal immigration judge to stay in the US, where he has lived illegally for the last five decades.

In his testimony before the judge, Obama's uncle mentioned that then-student Obama had stayed with him in Cambridge for three weeks after he was accepted into Harvard law school back in 1988.

Hyderabad, Dec 6 : Tata Projects Ltd., an engineering procurement construction service provider, Friday won the Industrial Infrastructure Project of the Year Award at the Dun & Bradstreet Infra Awards 2013.

According to a statement by the Tata Projects here, its Rourkela Steel Plant blast furnace, the largest in India, was adjudged the best in this category for 2013.

On 3rd of December, McDonald's Corp's senior vice president & international relationship partner Robert Larson wrote a letter to the company's Delhi team, declaring that the fast food chain's joint venture with Connaught Plaza Restaurants had been terminated.
